Optimizing Square Geometry for High-Current Loads
In heavy-duty applications like AC Contactors and Circuit Breakers, square and rectangular silver contacts are the preferred geometry. Unlike round rivets, the linear edges of square tips allow for better control of the electrical arc and a larger surface area for heat conduction away from the contact interface.
AgNi + CuNi: The Composite Advantage
Our square contacts often utilize a Bimetal structure. The AgNi (Silver Nickel) working surface provides high erosion resistance, while the CuNi (Copper Nickel) base layer is essential for two reasons:
